Our Story
I lost my buddy Flint on January 21st, 2026. He passed away suddenly while I was out of the country. I tried to make it back, but I didn't get there in time to be with him at the end.
His passing hit me hard. As an emotional support animal, Flint had helped me through one of the more difficult stages of my life.
In the weeks after, I found myself stuck in regret—regret for not being there at the end, regret for the things we never got to do, and regret for the days I didn't fully appreciate what his companionship meant to me.
I started working on Flentil shortly after he passed. "Flentil" was one of my nicknames for him.
This app is for anyone who wants to be more mindful of what their pet means to them—the stability, the joy, the quiet presence that's easy to take for granted. If it helps even one person, then building Flentil was worth it, and a way to honor his memory.
Flinty—this is for you. I hope it helps people be their best selves, the way you helped me be mine.
